Senior Airman Darren King

Senior Airman Darren King performs on string bass and electric bass with the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve Concert Band, Full Spectrum, and Reserve Generation. He also serves as an Operations Representative for the Band.

A native of Bismarck, North Dakota, Airman King graduated from Bismarck High School in 2002. He then continued his musical studies at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor's of Music degree. Prior to joining the Air Force, Airman King performed and toured as a string and electric bass player for multiple symphony orchestras, jazz ensembles, pit orchestras, rock bands, and hip-hop groups. In addition, he has been in demand as a studio sideman for multiple recording projects. A partial list of performing credits include Brian McKnight, Wynonna Judd, Amy Grant, Take 6, Jay Leno, Rip Taylor, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Ben Vereen, Tommy Tune, Lee Greenwood, Wayne Bergeron, Bob Sheppard, Clay Jenkins, and many others.

Senior Airman King has been forward deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. He is an avid cyclist and  student of Middle Eastern Foreign Policy and emergency medicine.
