| | Technical Sergeant Amy Moran | |
Technical Sergeant Amy M. Moran plays trumpet in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Brass Quintet, and Jazz Ensemble. She also performs bugle details for military ceremonies and funerals. Additionally, she is the NCOIC of public affairs for the band.
A Texas native, Sergeant Moran graduated from South Houston High School in 1992. Sergeant Moran began her studies at the University of Texas at Austin as a Zoology major, but after a few years decided to pursue her dream of becoming a professional musician. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Trumpet performance in 2000. She has studied with Ray Crisara, Armando Ghitalla, Anthony Plog, Judith Saxton, and Carol Morgan. She has performed withThe Diva Jazz Orchestra, Maiden Voyage Jazz Orchestra, Michael Brecker, Doc Severinson, Bobby Shew, The Miracles, Amy Grant, Take 6, Gordon Goodwin, Diamon Rio, Gary Morris, the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps.
During her Air Force career Sergeant Moran has performed for Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, The Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon, The Grand Duke of Luxembourg and US Ambassadors to Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Finland, Israel, Norway, Switzerland, and France, as well as Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
